How we source our content and how we comply

This page explains where the information on 911Meso.com comes from, how we keep it current, and how we keep information, attorney advertising, and display ads clearly apart.

How we source our content

Every medical, legal, and statistical page on 911Meso.com lists its sources at the end of the page, with links. We summarize what those sources say in plain English. We do not publish invented statistics, settlement amounts or averages, or promises about outcomes.

The sources we cite are:

  • Health agencies and cancer organizations: the National Cancer Institute (NCI), including its PDQ cancer summaries and its list of NCI-designated cancer centers; the American Cancer Society (ACS); and ClinicalTrials.gov.
  • Public health and safety agencies: the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including the U.S. Cancer Statistics on CDC WONDER, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the World Trade Center Health Program; the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR); the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), including its Superfund site records; and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Benefits agencies: the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA.gov and VA Public Health), the Department of Labor, and state workers' compensation agencies.
  • Laws and courts: state statutes from official legislature and code websites (or Justia's reproduction where an official copy is hard to link), federal regulations, published court decisions, and reports from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) on asbestos trust funds.
  • Published research: peer-reviewed studies, linked through the National Library of Medicine's PubMed, and state health department reports.
  • Professional bodies: the American Bar Association, for general information about lawyer advertising and fees.

Where we rely on a news report for a local fact, we say so in the source list.

Review dates and corrections

Each information page shows the date it was last reviewed against its sources. We re-check statutes and statistics at least once a year, and sooner when a source changes. Statistics are published as the agency reports them, with the period and units stated. State filing deadlines that we have not been able to verify against statute text show "Confirm with an attorney" instead of a number.

If you find an error, please tell us through the contact form. Include the page and, if you can, the source that shows the correct information.

How we follow industry standards

An information resource, not a law firm or medical provider

911Meso.com is published by HERE City. It is an information resource and attorney advertising service. It is not a law firm, a lawyer referral service, or a medical provider. Nothing on this site is legal or medical advice. Please check any fact that matters to you with a doctor or a licensed attorney in your state.

The attorney section is separate and labeled

  • The legal directory lives in its own section, find a lawyer, and is labeled attorney advertising.
  • The "Talk with an attorney now" banner on information pages is labeled attorney advertising. It links to that section and is styled differently from any ad.
  • Law firms pay a flat fee to be listed, as the cost of advertising. They do not pay us a share of any case or fee.
  • When firms join, each listing will name the lawyer responsible for it, with the firm's office city and the states where its lawyers are licensed.
  • We do not rank firms or call anyone a "top" or "best" lawyer, and we do not evaluate anyone's case.
  • Sending a form does not create an attorney-client relationship. Each lead form explains, before you send it, that your information may be shared with a participating law firm.

Display ads are labeled and kept apart

911Meso.com may show display ads served by Google AdSense on information pages, such as the pages about types, symptoms, treatment, exposure, veterans' benefits, and statistics. These ads help pay for the site. We do not endorse advertisers.

  • Every ad unit is labeled "Advertisements".
  • Ads appear only on information pages. There are no ads on the legal directory, attorney pages, lead or contact forms, thank-you pages, or error pages.
  • Ads are kept away from the attorney banner, forms, buttons, menus, and the site guide.
  • We do not style ads or banners as medical alerts or as government notices.

Privacy and advertising cookies

When ads are shown, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure them. Our privacy notice explains what we collect, how lead form information is shared, and how to control ad personalization.

Lizzy, our site guide, is an AI

The chat guide on this site, Lizzy, is an AI. She can help you find pages on 911Meso.com. She does not give legal or medical advice, she is not a doctor or a lawyer, and she cannot evaluate a case. For medical questions, talk with your doctor; for legal questions, talk with a licensed attorney.

Disclaimers, stated plainly

  • Not legal advice. This site gives general information. Laws, deadlines, and benefits change and differ by state. Confirm anything that matters with a licensed attorney in your state.
  • Not medical advice. Medical pages summarize the sources they cite. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have symptoms, talk with your doctor.
  • Attorney advertising. Law firms pay to advertise on this site and to receive inquiries sent through its forms. The hiring of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely on advertisements.
  • No guarantees. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome, and no one can promise a result.
  • No attorney-client or doctor-patient relationship is created by using this site, sending a form, or chatting with Lizzy.

How established national sites handle this

We looked at how established national mesothelioma information sites and large health publishers handle advertising and disclosures, and we follow the same practices:

  • Funding. The leading mesothelioma information sites generally fund themselves through law-firm sponsorship and case inquiries rather than display ads. 911Meso.com uses both, and keeps them apart: attorney advertising in its own labeled section and banner, and display ads only on information pages.
  • Labeled ads. Large health publishers that run display ads label each one "Advertisement" and keep it apart from their own buttons and calls to action. We label every ad unit and keep it away from our attorney banner, forms, and buttons.
  • Attorney advertising disclosures. Established sites disclose that they carry attorney advertising, state that prior results do not guarantee outcomes and that no attorney-client relationship is formed, and some add state-specific notices. We carry the same disclosures on every page, and each listing will name its responsible attorney when firms join.
  • No quality claims or alert framing. We do not describe any lawyer as "top" or "best", and we do not present ads or banners as medical or government alerts.

These are practices, not certifications. 911Meso.com does not claim any certification, bar approval, or approval from Google.
