Mesothelioma resources by state

Meso 911 is a national resource. Asbestos was used across the country, and the rules that matter most after a diagnosis, such as filing deadlines, depend on the state. Start with your state below.

In short

  • State guides so far: California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington.
  • Every state links to its filing deadlines, and the table at the bottom covers all 50 states and DC.
  • Each guide lists only exposure sites documented by a government agency or published research.
  • NCI-designated centers come from NCI's list (updated June 10, 2026); VA systems come from VA.gov.

Each guide covers documented exposure sites, the state's filing deadlines with links to the statutes, NCI-designated cancer centers, VA health care systems, and the state's workers' compensation agency. We add states one at a time so each page is researched from official records rather than filled in from a template.

How we choose what to list

We name a workplace or site only when a government agency or published research documents asbestos there, and we cite that record. Many other workplaces used asbestos-containing insulation, gaskets, and equipment, so a site's absence here does not mean it was safe. If you know of a documented site we should add, use our contact form and include the source.
